Choosing to love myself

For much of my life, I saw myself as the victim—of bullying, abandonment, and even of my own thoughts. But healing taught me a truth that changed everything: I am not just a survivor—I am the creator of my own reality. That realization is the soul of MindCraft and Craft2Sanity—two healing paths born from my personal transformation, now designed to help others rebuild from within.

In elementary and middle school, bullying wasn’t just an experience—it was my environment. I was targeted, mistreated, and made to feel like a burden. Even those I called “friends” treated me like a chore or a charity case. My kindness was rarely met with kindness. Instead, it was met with cruelty—and it broke me.

I spent years in emotional darkness, coping the only way I knew how: giving others the love I never received. But when you give endlessly without boundaries, you become an emotional vending machine. Eventually, I started turning that pain inward. I began bullying myself—through harmful thoughts, self-harm, and silence.

My depression grew heavy. And when I needed love the most, even the people closest to me began to drift away. At the time, I blamed myself—wondering what I did wrong. But over time, I learned that their leaving wasn’t a punishment. It was a lesson. Real friends don’t leave when things get dark. That loss taught me the importance of not people-pleasing, and to stop performing for approval I never really needed in the first place.

As a woman of color, I also faced the unique challenge of growing up in a culture where mental health was often dismissed. I fought battles with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and ADHD in silence. And even after finding therapy, I learned that true healing doesn’t just happen in the therapist’s office. It happens when you take your treatment home.

That’s why I created MindCraft and Craft2Sanity—because I needed something more than coping. I needed a system to rebuild myself. Through crafting, DIY projects, tarot, affirmation cards, and spiritual tools, I found ways to rewire my thoughts, regulate my emotions, and reconnect with my power. These weren’t just hobbies—they were medicine. They helped me practice thought mastery and return to myself.

Craft2Sanity became more than a safe space—it became a movement. A movement that invites others to turn their pain into purpose, to create with intention, and to use their hands and hearts to heal. Especially in environments like hospitals, shelters, or periods of isolation—where thoughts can spiral and support is limited—creative tools become lifelines.

Too much time, too many thoughts, and not enough guidance—that used to be my reality. Now I’ve crafted something new.

Because healing doesn’t mean going back to who you were—it means building who you were always meant to become.

And that’s what MindCraft and Craft2Sanity are here to help you do.
